Sunday

Services

Sunday morning attendance is usually between 45-60 people. Our dress is a reflection of our diversity. Typically there is a balance between dress and business-casual, though you will find anything from jeans to suits.

On Sunday morning we gather at 9:45 AM for 45 minutes of Bible Study, in which we learn about God’s Word – its meaning, and its application to every area of life. Our Adult class meets in the auditorium. Our pastor normally teaches this class. He has been teaching through various books of the Old Testament for the last several years.

We also have classes for the youth and children. The youth class is taught by Jay Updike, an elder. The children’s class is taught by the godly parents of some of the children. We have childcare available during this time.

Following that, at 10:45 AM, we begin gathering for our Sunday morning service. We meet together and worship as families. We encourage the involvement of children in the worship experience. A nursery is available if needed.

Music &

worship

The music we sing at GBC is a blend of old and new. We enjoy a careful mix of older, doctrinal rich hymns together with newer hymns, some of which have been written by our music leader, Caleb Harlin. We emphasize congregational singing, which allows everyone to sing praise to God with one voice. We view the music ministry of a church as a God-given means of teaching and admonishing one another (Colossians 3:16).

Sermons &

teachings

Preaching at GBC is largely expositional, which means we seek to give the meaning of a particular biblical passage and apply this message to our lives. Sermons usually last between 40-50 minutes with morning service dismissing by 12:30 PM.

Sunday

Evenings

We have a variety of activities on Sunday evenings. On the first and third Sunday of the month we meet in the home of one of our members. The purpose of this meeting is fellowship, Bible study, and sharing life with one another in a setting outside the church.

On the second Sunday of each month, we have a fellowship meal at the church following our Sunday morning service. We do not meet again in the evening on the second Sunday. On the fourth Sunday we minister at the Gospel Rescue Mission. We worship with them in the afternoon chapel service and serve the evening meal following the worship service.

Wednesday

Evenings

Wednesday evening’s service is devoted to prayer. We meet at 6:30 PM. We spend time sharing and updating prayer needs. We then divide into small groups and lift these concerns before the Lord. Our Wednesday evening time is tremendously encouraging and uplifting.
